It’s easy to make nut butter with a gear juicer, and it’s so much fun to see the nuts being transformed into a delightful treat! Single-gear juicers do a pretty good job of grinding nuts into nut butter, but double-gear juicers get through the process much better.

This is the basic recipe we love for making nut butter in our juicer. Note that the oil adds a special creaminess, and is optional unless your nuts simply won’t smooth out into a smooth butter, then you will really need to add a little bit of oil.

Homemade Nut Butter Made in Your Juicer

Ingredients

1 cup of nuts
Salt to taste, if any
Anything else you want to mix in
Optional: Up to 2 tablespoons of oil (peanut, vegetable, or coconut oil)

Directions

To make your nut butter, follow the directions in your juicer’s instruction guide. If you don’t have a recipe book or instruction guide for your juicer, look on the manufacturer’s website for suggestions on turning nuts into nut butter, or do an Internet search for “nut butter in {your brand of juicer}”. This may seem like a cop-out, but there are so many different juicers out there that one set of directions doesn’t fit all.

Did you come up with a really cool combination nut butter? Let us know about it in a comment!
