Sometimes you just want something quick and easy. A recipe that is basically a quick set of instructions with just a few ingredients, bing, bang, boom, and you’re done. That is exactly what this 2-ingredient golden milk protein shake is! In fact, we felt a little reluctant to post it, except that people have told us that it is genius and we should write it up (“Really” we thought? “It seemed kind of obvious to us,” but write it up we will!)

So here’s the bottom line: the two ingredients are vanilla protein powder, and turmeric. Yep, that’s it.

Now, we don’t know what protein powder you use, and so your results may vary, but we use the Orgain organic, vegan superfoods Vanilla Bean protein powder which is delicious, and which is available at Costco! However, do check prices, because when it’s not on sale at Costco it can actually be cheaper at Amazon!

The thing that we love about this protein powder (besides that it’s freakin’ delicious) is the incredible ingredients! It’s got 50 superfoods, in addition to 20 grams of vegan protein in every 160 calorie serving, including Millet, Amaranth, Buckwheat, Quinoa, Chia, Kale Powder, Apple Pulp, Cinnamon, Amaranth Sprout, Quinoa Sprout, Millet Sprout, Buckwheat Sprout, Garbanzo Bean Sprout, Lentil Sprout, Adzuki Sprout, Flax Sprout, Sunflower Sprout, Pumpkin Sprout, Chia Sprout, Sesame Sprout, Acai, Cranberry, Wheat Grass, Barley Grass, Oat Grass, Banana, Mango, Beet, Carrot, Spinach, Broccoli, Tomato, Kale, Cabbage, Parsley Leaf, Brussels Sprout, Green Bell Pepper, Cucumber, Celery, Garlic, Ginger Root, Green Onion, Cauliflower, Asparagus, Pineapple, Turmeric, Strawberry, Tart Cherry, Blackberry, Blueberry, Raspberry, Amla Fruit, Guava, Holy Basil, and Lemon Extract. (Whew!) How amazing is that?!

The Happy Gluten-Free Vegan and Vegan Costco group are always free. No annoying pop-up videos or ads, but it does cost us money to maintain the site and Facebook group, so if you've received value from us, won't you please leave a tip?
Thank you! ❤️

You also need a decent blender for this concoction. We have a Vitamix, but we actually just recently got the Ninja “Foodi Smoothie Bowl Maker and Nutrient Extractor” (how’s that for a mouthful??) This thing is amazing! It’s more powerful than the Vitamix, the blades are separate so it’s easy to clean (and dishwasher safe), it’s tiny compared to the Vitamix (see picture), and, best of all, it has its own computer-controlled timer so you can walk away from it and let it do its thing, and it will shut off automatically when it’s done!! (It also makes great smoothie bowls, and nut butter.) And it happens to be on sale, at least as of the time of this writing!!

Anyways, here’s how to make this ridiculously easy golden milk protein smoothie. Note that we do not count water as an ingredient. 🙂

2-Ingredient Gluten-Free Vegan Golden Milk Protein Smoothie

Ingredients

2 cups of water (you may also use plant milk but we have found it tastes just great with water)
2 scoops (1 serving) Orgain Organic Vanilla Bean vegan protein and superfoods powder (or other vanilla protein powder of your choice, you mileage may vary)
1/2 to 1 teaspoon turmeric, depending on taste
4 to 6 ice cubes, depending on how cold and thick you like your smoothie

Directions

Put everything in your blender and blend until smooth.
