Do you juice? We do, and we love it! We also love using our juicer to make yummy foods like nut butter!
Depending on the type of juicer you have, you may or may not be able to make an amazing and homemade batch of nut butter. Hopefully you have one that’s powerful enough, and has the right design, to create nut butter amazingness. But, if you don’t, there’s hope if you have a Vitamix.
Don’t have either? Consider getting one or both of these kitchen appliances, because there are so many outstanding foods and drinks you can make with them.
Once you’re prepared with your juicer or Vitamix, consider whipping up a batch of gourmet nut butter for yourself, your family, or friends.

It’s easy to make nut butter with a gear juicer, and it’s so much fun to see the nuts being transformed into a delightful treat! Single-gear juicers do a pretty good job of grinding nuts into nut butter, but double-gear juicers get through the process much better.
Slow juicers are so-so at turning nuts into butter, while many centrifugal juicers have a special homogenize function that’s perfect for making nutty spreads. The Vitamix, while not a juicer, has the power needed to turn nuts into butter without any issues.
Once you’ve decided to make nut butter and you have the right equipment, think about what kind of spread you’d like to create. Will it be peanut or almond butter, or something really special like hazelnut or cashew butter?
Do you want it plain, lightly salted, or flavored in some way? Play around making homemade nut butters and try recipes for creating cinnamon, cacao, or even raisin nut butter.
This is the basic recipe we love for making nut butter in our juicer:
1 cup of nuts
2 tablespoons of oil (peanut, organic canola, or coconut oil)
Salt, as desired
Mix-ins, as desired
To make your nut butter, follow the directions in your juicer’s instruction guide. If you don’t have a recipe book or instruction guide for your juicer, look on the manufacturer’s website for suggestions on turning nuts into nut butter.
