We loved the original Primal Kitchen Buffalo sauce, and our copycat Primal Kitchen vegan buffalo sauce (“vegan wing sauce” for short) looks and tastes just like the original! (Which they call their “No-Dairy Buffalo sauce”.) Why do we say “the original” Primal Kitchen sauce? If you think that your last bottle of Primal Kitchen Buffalo sauce didn’t taste quite the same, there’s a reason for that, which we explain below. But our copycat Primal Kitchen Buffalo sauce follows the original recipe that you fell in love with. Not only that, but because you’re making it yourself at home, you can make it less spicy, or even hotter and more spicy if you like! Serve this with our 1 Ingredient, 3 Step Vegan Wings for a real treat!
This is absolutely the best gluten-free vegan wings recipe! (It’s kind of hard for us to say “vegan chicken wings”, so we won’t, except right here to say that it’s hard to say.) Our vegan wing recipe has got just one ingredient, you make it in three easy steps, and the texture is fantastic! Dip them (or slather them) in our Copycat Primal Kitchen Buffalo Sauce!
If you are looking for a delicious, easy recipe for gluten-free, vegan, raw cinnamon rolls, you’ve found it! Now, before we go any further, in case you haven’t had raw cinnamon rolls we want to make sure that you know that raw cinnamon rolls are nothing like the bready, carby things that you get at Cinnabon, overloaded with processed flour and white sugar. Raw cinnamon rolls have a texture sort of like firm raw cookie dough, and they are packed with bursting cinnamon flavor, and are sweetened naturally. And they are as healthful as they are delicious! If this sound good to you, read on! Plus you can get nearly all of the ingredients in this recipe at Costco (and we do)!
If you are looking for a simple Moroccan tagine recipe that is vegetarian, well ours is actually vegan! And delicious! And, of course, gluten-free. Now, of course, you don’t actually have to own a Moroccan tagine (or any tagine), this can be made in any heavy pot that has a lid; we’re partial to enameled cast iron Dutch ovens if you don’t have a tagine but, again, any heavy-bottomed pot with a lid will do!
The organic vegan multivitamin at Costco is really excellent, and popular. So it seemed crazy to us that as popular as these organic vegan multivitamins by Kirkland are, it seems impossible to find the ingredient list and nutritional content online, other than in an image! So we grabbed the label and transcribed as text, so that people searching for it can find it.
Want to know how to make a vegan cheese? We believe that this easy vegan cheese recipe is truly the best vegan cheese recipe out there and trust us, we’ve made plenty (see our recipe for vegan cheese sauce, and the best vegan dairy free ricotta, and here’s how to make vegan cheese for pizza). Each of these recipes are amazing, but for a good all-around, customizable, sliceable, spreadable, meltable vegan cheese recipe, you can’t beat our Best Easy Vegan Cheese Recipe.
Easy Gluten-Free Vegan Pie Recipe: Vegan Chocolate Cream Pie! No Bake, Gluten Free, Dairy Free, and Soy Free!
You are not going to believe how easy this gluten-free vegan pie recipe is! Our vegan chocolate cream pie is DEEElicious, chocolatey, and incredibly smooth, and it’s soy-free, dairy-free and egg-free (of course, because it’s vegan). In fact, other than almond butter it is completely allergen-free (absent some obscure allergy) and even there you could substitute another nut butter. While many such pies rely on tofu or avocado, there is none of that in this vegan pie recipe. What this vegan chocolate cream pie does have is a fantastic deep chocolate taste, and a luxurious smooth texture that holds its shape even at room temperature.
Whether your preference is baked tofu cubes or air-fried tofu cubes, our firm tofu recipe for make-ahead tofu cubes will become your go-to recipe, even though it uses neither an oven nor an air fryer! It’s so awesome to have these chewy, creamy tofu cubes prepared ahead of time so you can just pop them in, well, whatever you’d like, and have meals ready in a jiffy! Ready for the secret? Read on!
Want a vegan doughnuts recipe that’s baked? This is the one! A recipe for gluten-free doughnuts? Ditto! A vegan donut recipe without yeast? Check, check, check! Craving empanadas but they have to be gluten-free vegan empanadas? Our mock empanadas will hit the spot! Why do we call them “mock empanadas”? Well that’s part of why they are fast and easy! Our mock empanadas are made with almond tortillas, specifically the Siete almond flour tortillas that one can get at Costco (although of course you get them elsewhere as well, including on Amazon). For the filling we crumbled up a Don Lee Farms black bean burger (also available at Costco) and added some peas. Easy peasy, literally!
Wondering if Skinny Butcher ‘Crazy Crispy Chicken’ products are gluten-free? Frustrated at not being able to find what are the ingredients in the Skinny Butcher ‘Crazy Crispy Chick’n’ nuggets and patties? We were too! That’s because Skinny Butcher doesn’t have their ingredients posted anywhere! So here they are, straight off the package.
These gluten-free vegan peanut butter bacon protein balls are a great vegan alternative to the protein truffles MyProtein offers. While the protein truffles MyProtein features seem to be all the rage, they are not only not vegan, but by all accounts they don’t even taste that good. On the other hand, our vegan peanut butter bacon truffles are delicious! They are also super easy to make, and the truffles (balls) themselves have only 3 ingredients, all available at Costco, or any major grocery store, or even on Amazon: peanut butter, protein powder, and peanut butter powder.
Our recipe for Not Dogs tofu dogs is our favorite vegan hot dog recipe and, it turns out, our favorite gluten-free vegan hot dogs of all. (But they are not copycat Tofu Pups, because the ingredients are much cleaner.) If you are a regular reader of the Happy Gluten-Free Vegan, you already know that we recently completed our head-to-head review of the three brands of gluten-free vegan hot dogs that are available to purchase in store or online; those are Moving Mountains, Yeah Dawg, and Sweet Earth. Of those three, Sweet Earth was the clear winner for flavor and texture, while Moving Mountains was the clear winner for clean ingredients and being intentionally vegan, and Yeah Dawg was the only one that was intentionally both gluten-free and vegan, but they failed in the flavor and texture department. You know that old saying “if you want something done right you have to do it yourself”? We wanted a gluten-free vegan hot dog that had clean ingredients, good flavor, and good texture. So we decided to create one.
Our copycat dark chocolate Chunky bars are super-easy to make, they are vegan, they are gluten-free, and honestly they are just plain better (and better for you) then actual Chunky bars (especially since Nestle took them over, and reduced the quality of the ingredients, and raised the price). Plus, you can get all of the ingredients at Costco (but of course you don’t have to), and organic (ditto)!
Moving Mountains Vegan Gluten-Free Hot Dogs: A Review, including How to Cook Moving Mountains Hot Dogs
We start off our review series of gluten-free vegan hot dogs (also called frankfurters or franks) with Moving Mountains brand vegan hot dogs. These are gluten-free by accident, meaning that Moving Mountains didn’t set out to intentionally create a hot dog that was gluten-free as well as vegan, but create it they did. While Moving Mountains started out in 2016 by creating vegan hamburgers (not gluten-free), and added vegan hot dogs (yay, gluten-free!) to their repertoire in 2019.
Our chocolate chip raw cookie dough protein balls are easy and fun to make, and have lots of flavor and plenty of protein. What they don’t have is gluten, animal products, refined sugar, or weird ingredients that you don’t want in your food. In fact, they have just 5 ingredients: dates, almonds, vanilla protein powder, vanilla extract, and chocolate chips. They also have a secret: While they are fantastic as is, they are amazing if you heat them up in an air fryer for a few minutes, or in the microwave for a few seconds! Then they come this magical best of all worlds, raw cookie dough with warm gushy chocolate chips!
Ok you know what maple-glazed means, but, you may be thinking, what the heck is cedar-planked? Or maybe you are already familiar with the more traditional maple-glazed cedar-planked salmon, which was all the rage among foodies some years ago. Regardless, cedar-planked means that the food is literally baked or roasted on a cedar plank in your oven! It’s amazing because it imparts this slightly sweet, slightly smoky, slightly cedary flavor.
Our homemade vegan pastrami recipe is so good that it has been judged “perfect” even by pastrami-loving carnivores! Have it plain, make a vegan pastrami reuben, or toss it with noodles and sauerkraut! And it’s not even complicated to make, in fact making our vegan pastrami recipe is easy! Now, of course, your vegan pastrami from Soy Curls won’t be in thin slices, but it will be in strips, perfect for putting on a sandwich with some delicious deli mustard, or with sauerkraut, vegan Russian dressing, and vegan cheese for that vegan pastrami reuben!
If you are trying to figure out how to find out if your Costco has something in stock, we’re here to tell you! It would be nice if you could check Costco inventory online, like with an in-store items search, and while you can’t do that, exactly, there are ways to find out if your Costco has something that you want before you make a trip or place a delivery order.
This awesome tofu marinade works in your air fryer as well as in your oven. It makes tofu cubes that are as versatile as they are delicious, with perfectly done outsides and incredible creamy centers. There are as many marinade recipes for tofu as there are, well, maybe not stars in the sky, but there are a lot of tofu marinade recipes, and we will put this one up against any of them. The secret to this easy, incredible marinade and its fabulous, magical alchemy with tofu is in how you press the tofu, and then letting the tofu marinate for a good long time. For this recipe it is imperative that you use the type of tofu that is found packed in water, in the refrigerated section. We use the House brand tofu from Costco for this, and it’s perfect.
